Mantraluna are from London, originally formed in Oldham, Lancashire in the late 1990s. Frequenting Manchester’s Roadhouse & Night & Day venues, supporting Elbow, Muse, Clint Boon, Campag Velocet, Dodgy. They were great nights, back when the music industry had extensive expense accounts, mp3 sounded awful & nobody recorded an album on a laptop.
In the noughties, concentrations turned to growing up, cooking, working, listening, reading &
Present day, 2013: Marco Centore (vocals) & Mike Laurie (guitar) link-up with the band’s former
Trumpeter, Richard Stubbs (bass) & Ric Nash on drums. With a decade of material, a wealth of
experience, influence & fresh perspective, they’ve been grafting in an archway rehearsal room in
East London to harness pent-up energies, to escape, to pursue, to rock like Hendrix, The Fall & Demis
With beautiful baggage in tow, loved ones accumulated, life is richer & better than it was last
century. It was good then too, but this is different, not too different, just definitely not the same.
